LEGO Brawls

Can two people play LEGO Brawls on one screen?

Yes. Up to 4 players can play LEGO Brawls co-op on one iPad: same screen or two controllers.

A LEGO platform brawler where you build your own minifigure and scrap over the map. The local party mode puts several controllers on one iPad, on the same team or against each other.

How you play together

  • Two controllers

One controller per player. Pick Same Team in the brawl options to play together.

How to start co-op in LEGO Brawls

  1. Connect two controllers.
  2. Each player presses a button on their controller to join and picks a minifigure.
  3. In the brawl options, pick the arena first.
  4. Then set the team option to Same Team and press Brawl.
  • Changing the arena resets the team option, and some modes have no Same Team at all. Set Same Team again after every arena change, or you end up fighting each other.
  • The screen is never split. When you move apart, the camera zooms out, so you always see each other.

Our review

LEGO Brawls is a fun, dynamic brawler that is easy to keep going for hours. The little customizations are a nice touch, and I like the graphics. The 2D perspective sets it apart from the typical LEGO games.

It is a game I come back to every now and then, not one I would play every day. But for a fun afternoon with friends or family it is a great choice. You get started intuitively, without committing to a longer story.

Co-op works through the brawl options: pick Same Team and you fight side by side. Just check it again whenever you change the arena, because it switches back, and some modes do not offer it at all. What I really like is that it always stays one screen. Even when you are at opposite ends of the map, the camera just zooms out, so everybody always knows where the other person is. That is kind of cool.
