Our review
Cult of the Lamb is a very unique game. I love the story: you play for the cult, not against it, so it is evil against evil. There are a lot of mystical elements, like tarot cards that make you stronger. And it is not only fighting through levels together. You recruit members for your cult and build up your base together, instead of just slaying enemies all the time.
It is one of the most beautiful games I have personally played. Huge credits to the artists, the art style is a very round, perfect experience. The gameplay together is really fun too, dynamic and smooth.
Co-op unlocks after the first short level. From then on it is straightforward: open the menu, choose co-op, connect the second controller and you are in. You can add or remove the second player any time, in any saved or new game, which is really neat.
After playing more, I am not so sure I love the game itself. I love the graphics, and I actually like the gameplay mechanics. But the dialogues are hard to digest. Everything is centered on the cult and how people would speak there, and they are just not fun to read. That is why I take half a point off: 8.5 out of 10.
