Our review

I tested this one somewhat against my will. My daughter saw the thumbnail and was drawn to it, so we played it together. And I have to say I was really positively surprised.

It is not my art style, but the game is super fun in co-op. I think it is a perfect game to play with younger players, whether that is your daughter, your son or anyone else who is not that experienced with controllers and consoles.

The great thing is that you do not lose a life unless both players die. So a more experienced player can always make up for a lack of experience. They can also finish a room early when the other player cannot make that last jump, and then you both continue to the next room. So it is never frustrating.

The characters are cute, and it is a really fun platformer. Across the several runs we did, the levels were put together differently each time. You see the same rooms again, but never in the same order, so I do not think it gets boring.

You need an Apple Arcade subscription to play it. But there are many great games on Arcade, and this is definitely one of them.

Overall, I really have to rate this highly as a cooperative experience: 8.5 out of 10.

A castle hall with arched windows: player one as a white chicken and player two as a duck hop across red ledges collecting coins
A pink gallery room with moving ledges, the duck marked P2 jumping up while the chicken waits at the top exit
A narrow tower room with rainbow cloud pillars, the duck jumping up towards the chicken at the top
A tall room with spiked blocks along a rainbow column, the chicken climbing ahead while the duck starts at the bottom
A long castle corridor with banners, a llama and the duck hopping across ledges above a row of spikes
A purple room with portraits and wooden crates, the llama and the duck heading for different exits
Boss fight: a giant blocky eagle dropping feathers while the duck and the llama dodge on a rainbow track
End of a run: the llama and the duck on a trophy podium with a score of 770 and a new top score
1 / 8
