Our review
Cat Quest III is an upgrade to Cat Quest II in every way. It is just as intuitive to pick up, just as cute, and just as beautifully illustrated and animated. But it is a lot more fun, because exploring the different island worlds, each with its own colors, gives you so many more possibilities.
It feels fast-paced and dynamic. The bosses are fun, although I think they are a bit too easy. It is a game you can play really nicely with inexperienced players and still have a ton of fun as an experienced player too.
It is not a straight line, and it feels even less like one than Cat Quest II, because you can easily sail into territory that is completely out of your league. So it feels even more open world and free, even though the map itself is quite small. There is lots to discover. And even after the main bosses are finished, the game offers plenty of little quests and extra features.
Starting co-op is just as easy as in Cat Quest II: choose Local Co-Op in the main menu, and player two joins by pressing any button on the second controller and confirming.
We are definitely big fans of Cat Quest III.
